Dr. Vasylyk was an orthodontist and an assistant professor of orthodontics in Moscow for seven years prior to first coming to the United States in 1996. In Moscow, she was an orthodontics practitioner, teacher, and researcher, publishing repeatedly in dental journals on temporomandibular joint disorders and other subjects.

Dr Vasylyk studied at the UCLA School of Dentistry in Los Angeles and obtained a California Dental License in 2001. Since 2003, Dr. Vasylyk has been an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, among the top-ranked dental schools in the U.S. She has a combined experience of 15 years teaching orthodontics and successfully treating many hundreds of orthodontics patients.
Dr. Vasylyk has had a private dental practice in the San Francisco area since 2001. She currently limits her practice to orthodontics, and is an expert in the use of the highly-acclaimed Damon system. She treats children, adolescents, and adults with equal success.

Dr. Vasylyk is a Member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the Alameda County Dental Association.
She values her warm friendships with numerous colleagues in the San Francisco Bay Area dental community, both inside and outside the University.

Dr. Vasylyk comes from a medical family in St. Petersburg. Her mother is an orthopedic surgeon, her father a specialist in internal medicine, and her sister a cardiologist. Dr. Vasylyk received a Renaissance-like education, including formal studies in medicine, dentistry, art, dance, music, and philosophy. She plays classical violin and piano, has appeared as a singer in various venues in the Bay Area, and enjoys sculpture and rock climbing. She has traveled extensively in North America, Latin America, Africa, and the South Pacific.
